Monday after work, Bryce's mom and sister came into town so we had a night out. We took them to the Nike Employee store and then to dinner at Screen Door. Surprisingly, there was still a wait even though it was Monday night, but it was worth it. For appetizers, we tried the Mac & Cheese and Gumbo plates. Both were amazing! We then all got different meals so we could sample lots of the main dishes - Crispy Fried Buttermilk-battered chicken, House Smoked beef brisket, Trout Pecan, and Red Beans & Rice with Herb-crusted pork cutlets. Everything was amazing! I couldn't decide which one I liked the best because you can't go wrong with their fried chicken, but the pork cutlets had the most incredible herb crust and the trout was just divine. We were happy!
We ended up going to bed late, but it was fun having them visit. I really scored from their visit because I got lots of tomatoes from their garden, new craft supplies, and a Sonic toothbrush! In the morning, Both Bryce and I were up and out of the house before 7:30AM so we had quick goodbyes and they headed out to Washington some time after that.
Wednesday evening I stayed at work late for a party. They had food and games on the field, which usually isn't enough to keep me late, but they had great prizes! I was able to win a free pair of Nike sunglasses and I came so close to winning a $50 Nike gift card and an Apple watch.
Then I got home and we went to the concert in the park. It wasn't so much for the concert, but to be with friends.
Thursday after work, I got home and had a package! I have been expecting a package so figured it was that, but it was from my friend, Julia, for her wedding and it was awesome!
Now to welcome Friday and the weekend for hopefully some much needed sleep!
