When we very first announced we were pregnant in May, my friend Melanie asked if she could throw me a baby shower and of course I said yes because she has amazing talents with parties! We decided to do it sooner rather than later because of weather and schedule - we wanted it outside and things were going to be so busy come fall so August it is!
The baby shower turned out so lovely and adorable! I helped with the theme, but the details were kept a surprise. It felt
weird not helping, but it was exciting to show up and see all the
amazing things she had planned! The theme was Welcome to the World Baby Hanks!
Everything was mostly white except for accents of blue and teal. Then there were maps, globes, and planes all over. So cute! She recruited some of our other talented friends and it was the perfect party to end summer with. Now for picture overload!!!!
Food Table!
I have always wanted to have a party that included chicken salad croissant sandwiches so it was a dream came true when I saw those!
The best cake in all the world - banana cake with cream cheese frosting! Made by a friend in my ward! I am not a cake person, but I honestly could eat the entire thing myself.
And don't forget the sugar cookies, artichoke dip, cake pops, and rice krispie treats!!!
So many people helped make sure we had delicious food!
Classy drinks with cool paper straws and San Pellegrinos!
Party Tables!
Party Tables!
Loved the centerpieces! Pinwheels and books. So on point!
Gift Table!
We used the flower arrangement I made at the floral class as the centerpiece for the gift table!
Baby and I were very spoiled by friends!
The Guests!
My awesome Nike coworkers!
Sadly, I didn't get a picture with everyone who came, but it was so fun to have so many friends there.
Barbie - on the right - was sweet enough to let us use her house and incredible backyard for the party! Also, best story ever because my mom knew Barbie when they were in the same stake in high school. SMALL WORLD!!!
And the lovely Melanie who made it all possible!
I could not ask for a better neighbor and friend.
Oregon has been good to us and we are so grateful for all the friends we have made especially in our ward! And all the gifts made it all so exciting and real. Now to get all the baby stuff to fit into the apartment!
So cute! I love the theme and decorations. That is the perfect baby shower food. I also laughed when I saw that the book on one of those tables was " Between Husband and Wife." Hahaahahhaha.
