Cold Thoughts are Happy Thoughts

It has been so hot! We have been living off popsicles and freezing towels to keep cool.

So Friday I worked a half day (love Nike summer hours!) and emailed a Mazda dealership about getting a CX-5. I am dying without A/C in my BMW! I got home around 2PM and went swimming to cool off. It surprisingly wasn't even that crowded. After I called my mom and Heidi to catch up on life. Bryce got home a little after 5PM and we tried a new restaurant Kung POW! that was fantastic! It serves Chinese type food and the best thing we had were these Fish Balls. Delicious and spicy hot! Bryce was sweating and his eyes were watering and we drank three pitchers of water, but totally worth it! The main dishes were solid as well.
After dinner, we went to the *Adidas Employee Store* (Shhh!) since we were on that side of town. We found nothing, but it was interesting to see the competition. We came home and relaxed. I ended up talking to Julia on the phone for most of the night.

Saturday we both got up early. Bryce played basketball and got a hair cut. I cleaned the bathroom since that meant I got to have cold water running and a fan blowing on me while I scrubbed. We then went to the Mazda and Honda dealerships. After we ran errands that involved A/C so the library and post office. That evening we went and saw the movie Inside Out with the Judd's. It was mostly because we wanted to sit in air-conditioning, but the movie was pretty good too.

Sunday we had a pretty relaxing morning and then went to church. My favorite little boy in my Primary class talked to me before church and it made my day! He says the funniest things and his mom told me that he was telling her that I was pregnant and that I was going to figure out whether it was a boy or girl as if it required detective work. In class, I gave the kids blue candy because they had all guessed the baby's gender.

After church I skyped with the family in Texas. Loved seeing the twins too! Bryce took a picture of me trying to stay cool while chatting.
After talking to family, we went to the Brook's for a ebelskivers party that were amazing! I love breakfast type foods and we chatted and lounged in their much cooler apartment.

Then on Wednesday evening Hyrum opened his mission call! He will be serving in the Oaxaca, Mexico mission and reports to the Mexico MTC on November 25th. Can't believe he is old enough to go on a mission, but he will be such a cute missionary. Also, one of my freshman roommates' husbands is a director at the Mexico MTC so I will have to give her the heads up that he is coming!

  1. Oh, I think that going to the Mexico MTC would be really cool.

I read this book that was written about a white woman who grew up in Africa and she was talking about how they would drink hot tea in the afternoon so that it would make them start sweating and cool them off. Maybe, the fish balls provided the sweating for you guys.
