Sunriver Weekend

Thursday evening Bryce and I headed out to Sunriver for his law conference. The drive wasn't too bad even though we had delays because of road construction and an accident. We arrived at the cabin around 10;30PM and got settled in and went to bed. The next morning, Bryce got up around 7AM and left for the conference. I slept in until about 8:30AM. I then got ready and headed out around 10AM. The cabin was large and had 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths.
I liked all the wood work and view of the golf course.
I found a bike in the garage and headed out on the bike trails.
I went to the Village that had a grocery store, restaurants, and shops. I then rode over to the big pool area. After I walked around the Village and looked in some shops and bought some snacks.
I got back to the cabin around 11:45AM and Bryce got home shortly after that so we went to lunch. We found a place in the Village and enjoyed some delicious hamburgers.
After we got home and headed out to Crater Lake. It took about an hour and a half south from Sunriver and we enjoyed the beautiful blue water! We drove around part way taking pictures and then headed back.
That evening we rode our bikes to get pizza and enjoyed a quiet evening at the cabin while everyone else was at the casino night for the conference.
So happy on my bike!

Saturday Bryce left a little later and I got up a little earlier. I had a pedicure at 9AM and that was a great way to start the day. I then went on a very long bike ride. I wasn't meaning to go that far, but I didn't really know where I was going. I finally got back to the cabin and then headed to the pool. I wasn't there very long when Bryce arrived.
We then headed to Smith Rock which is north of Sunriver. We arrived around 2PM and it was pretty hot. We started walking and I wasn't too sure on things, but we had come this far might as well make it worth it. We took Misery Ridge, which was a fitting name. Luckily, Bryce had brought a water bottle and we made frequent stops in the shade. It was very pretty from the top.

We headed back and got a Jamba Juice to help cool us down, which is a great decision. Then got back to the cabin and quickly got showered and headed to the BBQ. The BBQ was at one of the partner's cabin in Sunriver so very close. We ate lots of food and I tried to steer the conversation to baby stuff instead of law topics (evil, but way more entertaining!). We then headed back to Portland after the party. The drive home wasn't too bad we got in around 10:30 so with enough time to eat a popiscle with our neighbors and go to sleep in our own bed!

It was a great trip and hope we can get back there again!

  1. I love the name Misery Ridge! You've got to love those settlers of the west, they just called things what they are.
