Last Friday night, Bryce and I recreated our first date by going to Montage. I got my usual dish of Spold Mac'n'Cheese and Bryce tried something new. Then unlike our first date where we had our own table, we were seated next to a double date group. We were quite entertained listening to how one couple met online and met up. Don't even worry, the guy said he was a MMA fighters so how could the girl resist him. Oh, table talk! So besides the food being good and the entertaining environment, the restaurant always makes crazy tin foil things with any leftover.
Hello Scorpion!
After dinner, we then went to Voodoo Doughnuts and got voodoo men because the raspberry filled chocolate covered donuts is amazing!
Saturday was a full day, which started with cleaning and homework. We helped at the Emergency Preparedness fair that our ward put on for the community. It was good and while there, Bryce and I designed our food storage plan! Then after we went to the Portland Apple Festival. It was so fun and did not rain on us. There were over 50 kinds of apples and pears to try and buy. While waiting in line to do the tasting, we ate delicious apple strudel with ice cream. Yum!
So once inside the tasting tent there were so many apples to try!
There were so many tart and sweet ones! We were also able to confirm that Honey Crisp are amazing and Red Delicious are gross.
In the end, we bought two kinds of apples - Elstar and some other kind I have never heard of before.
Oh and don't forget the apple cider! We got a gallon so we can drink to all the fall days ahead!
Bottoms up!
