Farewell to My Twenties

This morning I woke and realized that this is my last morning waking up as a 29 year old. A moment of silence passed. My twenties have been pretty amazing so why not highlight the last decade of birthdays! I do wish I had my journals so I would know what I actually did on the day, but oh well here goes from my memory...

Age 20 - I was living at Centennial Apartments in Provo. It was my second year at BYU and I had just returned from studying abroad in Vienna. I was roommates with Heidi who became an instant friend and Shalee lived in the apartment above me. I don't remember what I actually did for my birthday, but I am sure it was fun!

Age 21 - I was living at Hampton Court in Provo (659 N 700 E). I had changed my major from Accounting to Information Systems so was taking my first programming class. I was roommates with Kristen, Carlee, and Laura. Again, I don't remember what I did on my actual birthday.

Age 22 - I was living in Chandell Townhouse in Provo (899 N 50 E). I was in my second semester of the Information Systems Core and working as a TA for a study abroad program. I was roommates with Emily, Courtney, and Laura. A group of us went out to California Pizza Kitchen to celebrate!

Age 23 - I was living in Alta Apartments in Provo. I had just returned from another study aboard in Vienna. I was in my first semester of my Masters program and working at the MTC as a web programmer. I was roommates with Lauren, Adrian, Holly, Becca, and Megan. My friends and I went up to Salt Lake and had dinner at The Gateway.

Age 24 - I was still living in Alta Apartments in Provo. I was finishing my Masters and in my last semester at BYU. I was also still working at the MTC as a web programmer and had accepted a job with KPMG in SLC for the coming fall. I was roommates with Lauren, Adrian, Heather, Holly, and Lindsey. On my birthday, it was snowy and when I left for school I found a dozen white roses on my car from "Peter Cetera" who ended up being a weird guy in my ward. Heidi organized a birthday party and we ate cake and had pizza!

Age 25 - I was living in a condo in Salt Lake City (150 S. 800 E. Apt. G2). I was working at KPMG and Jannifer and Julia were my roommates. For my actual birthday, I went out to dinner with Jannifer, Danny, and Julia. Then we went to a Jack's Mannequin concert. That weekend, I went to Arizona to party with Heidi!

Age 26 - I was living in a basement apartment in Sugarhouse (1947 Nevada St) by myself. Even though I have always had amazing roommates, I was loving living alone. As my birthday present to myself, I quit my job at KPMG. I was getting ready to move to Portland, Oregon to start working at Huron Healthcare. I don't know what I did on the actual day

Age 27 - I was living in Lake Oswego in my own apartment and working at Huron. Bryce and I were dating and I pretty much knew I wanted to marry him, but hadn't told him yet. Bryce got me flowers and earrings. Then he took me out to dinner. It was my first romantic birthday!

Age 28 - I was living in Lake Oswego and now married to Bryce. I was still working at Huron, but was not liking it (I quit in March to go work at Nike!). We went out to dinner at Piazza Italia with Scott and Cecile who were in town for the weekend.

Age 29 - I was living in Lake Oswego and married to Bryce. I was working at Nike and loving my job for change. Bryce was in his last semester of law school, but mostly working downtown. My actually birthday was on a Sunday so we went to stake conference. The crazy part was that Portland had a crazy snow storm that weekend so work was cancelled both Friday and Monday.

Well, there you have it! I am sure there is lots I am not remembering like boy drama, but the last decade have been pretty good to me. Cheers twenties!
