Pizza, Berries, and Bread

Even though it was a normal 5-day work week, it flew by! A few nights after work, we went swimming at our apartment pool to cool off. Then by the end of the week, the temperatures had dropped so living in our apartment was good again. Friday evening we went out to dinner with the Brook's at Apizza Scholls. Such good pizza! We then ate brownies and watched the Giants game.

Saturday we slept in and then organized our storage closet, under the bed, and bathroom. I am trying to make more room for baby, but so far haven't been too successfully at getting him any real space to call his own. It felt great though to get things organized and get rid of a few things.

Sunday we had a relaxing morning and then went to church. After we came home and I talked to Jannifer and Emily on the phone for a long time. It was great to catch up! I also made a yummy dessert I found on Facebook. The recipe calls for cherries, but we went with blackberries since we have a huge bush by our apartment. Bryce even wore his new hat for the occasion! We then shared with our neighbors and it was delicious. Not very sweet, but so yummy!
The recipe was easy too! It's called cherry clafoutis, but I modified it with what berries I had.
2 cups blackberries
4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter
Butter pan and dust with sugar. Place berries in pan. Mix all remaining ingredients and pour into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Here's the video link.

Monday evening the baking continued. I made strawberry banana bread because I had bananas and strawberries that needed to be used. It worked out pretty well!
