November continues to be busy and cold! Tuesday night, we went and saw the movie Interstellar. We went with the Brook's and ran into the Thompson's at the theater so it was a fun group. Melanie brought sparkling cider and we got free popcorn so we had snacks as we settled in for the 3 hour movie, which was great to just sit in the warm theater since it was so cold.
Wednesday was very windy and cold, but the real surprise came when the forecast had 4 to 6 inches of snow for Portland by Thursday morning. Bryce and I prepared Wednesday night by buying a programmable thermostat for our room so we could have the heater on when we woke up. When we woke up Thursday morning, we were warm, but there no snow on the ground so we got ready for work even though I really wanted a snow day and work from home. Bryce didn't have any problems with his commute, but the freezing rain started after that so when I left my car was covered in ice. It took about 20 minutes to get it all scraped off, but the roads weren't bad at all. The best part was no one was on the roads because most schools had been cancelled so I got to work in 15 minutes! There was no one at work so it was a pretty relaxed day. Both Bryce and I did come home early and then stay warm inside wishing it were the weekend already. Then Friday finally came and the wind finally stopped. Work went by pretty quickly and then that evening we went over to the Judd's to have pizza and hang out.
Saturday I slept in and Bryce played basketball. We then cleaned up and I went the gym. That afternoon we ran some errands and then I got sucked into the mall. I really wanted to find some new winter clothes, which I did, it just took much longer than planned. We had to rush to pick up some Hawaiian food for dinner so we could feed the missionaries. After eating dinner with the Elders, we went to the Moses' and watched the BYU football game.
Sunday we went to church early and I went to the library to get supplies for my primary class. It took much longer than expected so I barely got to the chapel for the sacrament hymn. Bryce was sitting in the middle of a pew so I sat in the back so I didn't have to crawl over people during the sacrament. I joined Bryce after the sacrament and then Bryce told me I had the closing prayer so I would have to crawl back over everyone at the end of the meeting. The rest of the day was pretty relaxing and we enjoyed some hot apple cider with the Brook's.
With the weather being so cold and icy this past week, it already feels like Christmas or maybe I am just so excited for the holidays!

I have concluded that freezing rain is the most miserable weather event of all.
