Sweet November

November started with a party - our friend's caramel apple party! This is the second year we have gone and it gives Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory a run for it's money. It was a fun evening and since we didn't have any candy from Halloween, we were excited to eat some sugar!
Saturday was a little less exciting and we did some Fall cleaning and decorating. Sadly, I was too busy this year to get the Halloween decorations up, but since my parents are coming for Thanksgiving, I got motivated to get the Thanksgivings ones out. Then we put flannel sheets on the bed, cleaned out the closet, and got a new shoe rack. Working for a clothing company definitely makes it easier to get rid of clothes because it is so easy to get new ones! Now I want to join the guy in Italian Job who wanted a closet for his shoes.
That evening to reward our hard work, we went to dinner at Old Salt Marketplace. We started dinner with a beet salad and buttermilk biscuits that were so delicious. For our main dishes, I got gnocchi that was soaking in a bath of brown butter and Bryce got pork three ways. We left very happy and very full!
After dinner, we came home and watched a movie - Safe Haven. It was super lame. I should have known better since it was based on a Nicholas Spark novels. He uses the same story every time just changes a few details.

We finished the weekend off with a quiet Sunday. Bryce helped me in class and I made sure I had lots of games and activities so that time would go quickly. I also decided to use bribery on the children. If they were good and reverent we would have a movie party with popcorn in two weeks. After church, we came home and had corned beef and cabbage, our favorite!

  1. I used bribery (rewards) with my primary kids as well. We used to let them earn parties. It works!
