Oh boy, this past week was very busy! Work has been especially crazy because for the last month I have been training a new girl, but it wasn't working out. It was creating more work for me than helping the team out so her last day was Wednesday. Then on Thursday evening, I helped at the Oregon Food Bank with the Relief Society who does it every November. It's one of my favorite activities. After sitting in front of a computer all day long, I find it so nice to do some manually labor! We packaged green beans - over 8,000 pounds of them!
Friday finally came and we decided to get seafood. Bryce found a new place called Block + Tackle.
For the second week in a row, we got a beet salad. Bryce loved the pickle beets! We then enjoyed some fish dishes. After we watched the movie Gattaca that turned out differently than I expected. It wasn't about space at all!
Saturday was a full day. We had crepes for breakfast after Bryce played basketball. Then I worked on the finances and went to the gym, and Bryce had to study. That evening, we went to the Moses to watch the BYU vs Wisconsin game. Unfortunately, the best part of the evening was the chili. We just couldn't make anything happen in the first half of the game and by the second half it was just too late. So sad!
Sunday, Bryce helped me in class again and the bribery continued. It was hilarious because I made paper popcorn and told the kids that if they wanted real popcorn for the party next week they would have to fill the bucket full of paper popcorn. One little boy was so into it that he didn't move at all for the first 15 minutes of the class. Also, everyone was very concerned about seeing how full the bucket was getting during class, but luckily they stayed reverent and filled it up. Party time!
I heard a story about Block and Tackle on NPR. It sounded delicious. Looks lik it lived up to it's reputation.
