Autumn this year has come in with a BANG of lots of rain and colder temperatures. Just two weeks ago we were at Oktoberfest wearing shorts and eating ice cream to cool off. Now it is slippers and coats, which Bryce and I found at Costco! I actually have a coat that is warm and waterproof - so far I am staying warm and dry and Bryce has warm feet. All is well!
So with the cooler temperatures, I am finding the desire to cook and bake again. Friday night, I made a German meal of spaetzle, wurst, and rotkaut! After going to Oktoberfest and not actually eating very German food, I have been craving it. It turned out pretty good, too!
Then it was extremely stormy this weekend so I made a pumpkin pie to make everything better. It can rain all it wants when you are eating pumpkin pie!
I didn't have any evaporated milk so I found a recipe that uses sweetened condensed milk and it worked like a charm! We also got new tires for Bryce's car on Saturday. They were badly needed and with all the rain it was time to pay for some safety!
