BYU Recruiting Trip

A few weeks ago, my supervisor asked if I wanted to help with the fall recruiting trip to BYU. OF COURSE I DID! So five of us flew out to Utah. We arrived in Salt Lake and immediately, my skin felt dry. We went and had lunch at Red Iguana, which get rave reviews, but wasn't quite there for me. Their specialty is mole, and they were good, but didn't hit the Mexican spot for me.

We then drove down to Provo and checked into our hotel. We had a little down time, so my friend Carlee came and picked me up! I think the last time I saw Carlee was at her wedding and now she has a baby! It was so fun to see her and chat just like old days, except instead of dating stories it is marriage and motherhood stories. Love life!

Wednesday evening there was a recruiting event and it actually was really fun because I got to see my former coworker from KPMG. And my friend who started the MBA program came and visited me! I loved how BYU brings people together! After we went to dinner and ate amazing food at a restaurant called Communal. My favorite was the picked peach salad and beets. DELICIOUS! And definitely not a college student place, but great when eating on the company dime!
Thursday was quite the day because we did a career fair from 9 to 4. I did lots of talking and enjoyed the energy and fun of BYU. After we went walked around campus and I got a game day shirt and chocolate milk! We then went to the hotel and reviewed all the resumes. I like being on the other side of recruiting. We then went back to campus and did an information session, which is my favorite part. I always find I get my best inspiration right before my turn and this time was no different! Ha, impressed those kids with my stories.
After we went and got a delicious dinner at 712 Pizzeria. Of course, I was following the BYU vs BSU game on my phone so I wasn't much for conversation. So we didn't get back to the hotel until 11PM and I was exhausted. I then talked to Bryce and went to bed.

Friday, I ended up working pretty all day because my client a ridiculous! The hotel internet was terrible, which was super annoying, but luckily my friend Joni let me use her internet! I was able to chat with her for a little bit until clients started calling. Finally, it was 5PM and Landon came and picked me up. We ended up going to dinner and the BYU soccer game. Adrian and Lauren came too. Of course, the soccer game was against Utah and I showed up in red pants! But BYU still crushed them!

After the game, we played around in the Smith Field House.
I am so strong!

So Friday night, I was missing Bryce a lot so we chatted for a little bit. Then I slept over at Celeste and Dave's place. I actually slept better on their couch than at the hotel!

Saturday we woke up and went to Einstein Bagels. It was quite the experience. We all ended up getting free bagels they didn't get any of our orders right! After I had to go see the stadium and the new video board.
Even though there was no game at home that Saturday, I sat in the stadium as a true blue fan enjoying every minute.
 Just hanging with cougars!

Saturday afternoon, my friend, Julia, came and picked me up so we could hang out and take me to the airport. On our way, we stopped and got natural flavored shaved ice. Weird is the best way to describe it and I wouldn't recommend it.

Also, out of the last 48 days, I have only slept 23 nights in my own bed. I am ready to be home!
