Viva Las Vegas

So my company has a conference once a year and this year it was in Las Vegas. Bryce and I were excited to have a weekend in Vegas and see friends and family, but unfortunately, the company forgot about the Portland office so we only got to stay one night. LAME!

Anyways, I woke up at 3AM Wednesday morning to catch my flight. I think there were twenty other employees on the flight. So we arrived in Vegas around 9AM and luckily our hotel had early check-in.
We stayed at the Aria, which is new and just right off the strip. We walked into the hotel room and the curtains opened automatically, music started playing, and the TV said "Welcome Brittany." I was most pleased by the bed. After getting up so early, I got right into bed and took a wonderful nap....and got paid!
Since the conference didn't start until 2PM, I decided to get some gelato for lunch, but it was terrible! I have had gelato, and that was definitely NOT gelato! Then the conference was pretty boring so I designed house plans because that is my favorite thing to doodle. Then that evening we had a social hour and a steak dinner.Unfortunately, the dinner looked pretty, but made me sick. Vegas is so fake!
This was the weirdest dessert I have ever had and it was chocolate and banana....NOT GOOD!

After the dinner, some of my coworkers and I went and saw the Bellagio Fountains because those are my favorite thing in Vegas. They were amazing!
So that night was my first night being away from Bryce since we have been married. Separation Anxiety! But I fought through and slept through the night:)

Thursday, I woke up and went to breakfast with Kenzie! We went to Hash House a go go and got a waffle and a hash. It was quite good! And I loved hearing all of Kenzie's stories. It reminds me of when I moved to Portland and all the excitement to be in a new place and starting a new adventure in life. So after breakfast, I came back to the hotel and was going to go to some breakout sessions at the conference, but I had some client work I needed to do. Then before I headed to the airport, I found place with gelato and had to try! It was HEAVEN.

Mango and Creme Brulee...YUMMY!

So I got back to Portland Thursday evening and was back to work on Friday. I wish I could have had two days off instead, but at least I got to see Kenzie and eat gelato!

  1. Thanks for thinking of me and visiting me. I'm going to have to try this gelato. I definitely need more gelato in my life!
