So we woke up and went to the ward breakfast and parade. I was totally excited that Bryce had picked up some sweet American shirts for us to wear. We then ate lots of waffles and sausage before watching the kids ride around the church on their decorated wheels.
After we went swimming and relaxed in the sun! Which was so amazing, but just confirms how little I see the sun as my white skin blinds everyone. We then had a BBQ with our friends, Roger and Brittany, who are so fun to talk to and have two adorable girls. We made fancy red, white and blue food and spiraled hot dogs!
After we ran downtown to watch the fireworks over the river. Unfortunately, fireworks+trees=bad visibility. Ok, Oregon the trees are very nice, but cut some down so we can see the fireworks! I love a good view and the trees keep getting in the way. And they provide way too much shade! We already don't see the sun for 9 months out of the year! Anyways, I left bummed that the fireworks were quite up to my expectations. I told Bryce we are not missing Stadium of Fire next year!
Luckily, that Saturday we went to a rodeo. It was in this tiny town and we enjoyed lots of bull riding. Unfortunately, the bulls were rough and only 3 people got the 8 seconds.
After the rodeo, they shot off fireworks to music and I was so pleased!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
