We had our first visitor this past weekend! Bryce's dad flew in Saturday morning and we were very excited to show him all the sights of Portland. We started with downtown and first went to the Pittock Mansion, which has incredible views of the city.
After we went to the Rose Gardens, and since Portland is called The Rose City, I had high expectations. Oh boy, it did not disappoint!
So many roses everywhere!
Side note: Bryce and I had come to the Rose Garden in April to take engagement photos and it was very uninspiring. Just needed to wait a few months!
We got lunch at a food cart, where we waited in line for an hour for Big-A sandwiches and then ended up going across the street to a BBQ cart where there was no line! After we then went to Voodoo Doughnuts for dessert. Yum!
We then drove to Oregon City to see where Bryce had done his internship at the Clackamas Courthouse clerking for a judge. He loved it and he always came home with crazy stories!
Oregon City was having a cute little street market when we showed up so we were pleasantly surprised with the added entertainment in an otherwise quiet downtown.
We also visited the Lewis & Clark campus. The grounds and building are so beautiful. If you look real hard you can see Mount Hood in the distance.
Bryce's dad left Sunday after church and some supper. I loved that he took the train, but who knew that the train station would be such a mad house. It was crazy and there was no parking!
Come visit us!
