A Quiet Halloween

I had so many plans for the week of Halloween, however, I kept working late and then I got a cold. My plan to have a costume that creatively used my pregnancy went to the way side. We were still able to make it to the ward Trunk-or-Treat party and enjoy the family costumes though.

Thursday I had off work so I was able to sleep in then I had an eye exam appointment. After that I took Bryce's car to the DEQ - the Honda failed back in August and we have been working with the mechanics for the past three months to get the right part and get it fixed. It was a debacle, but it passed!! After I went to Walmart and Target to get baby stuff and some essentials for getting over my cold. It was very successful and I came home and relaxed. Later that afternoon I went to the doctor's and apparently I don't recognize contractions. He pointed out I was having one and I had no idea. I usually just assume baby is moving. When Bryce got home from work, we went to Costco for dinner and groceries. We then relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Friday was my last day being at work. I tried to get everything squared away for my coworkers. The day went by quickly as we went over as much as we could. At the end of work, it was weird leaving thinking I wouldn't be back for awhile. Since I can remember I have been a student or had work as part of my routine. Baby is about to change all that!
That evening we went to the Merrill's for a Halloween party. We ate way too many sweets, played a fun werewolf game, and shared embarrassing stories. It was great and laughed so hard!

Saturday I slept in and rested until 2PM. I really didn't want to be sick when I go into labor so wanted to give my body as much rest as possible. That afternoon we ventured to downtown and it was raining so hard that streets were floated all over. Thankfully, we had the CX-5 that kept us safe and dry. After running around to different stores, we decided to get Indian food for dinner. The naan was especially satisfying. We then came home and watched a silent movie called Nosferatu from 1952 based on the book Dracula. It was perfect for Halloween, but not too scary for me!

Sunday I tried to relax some more. We went to church and I taught my primary class for probably the last the time before the baby comes. They are cute kids. After church, we skyped with Landon and Shelley. The twins even gave me some smiles! After we had soup for dinner and relaxed with the thought that baby could come at any time, but I still have lots I want to get done before his arrival so hoping he stays put a little longer. And then the thought of labor and that it can't be avoided!!!! OH BOY!

  1. That would be a weird thought to think that you wouldn't be going back to work anytime soon.
