There was lots of wind and rain that kept things entertaining. Friday was rainy, but we braved it as Oregonians and we went out to dinner with our friends, Natalie and Paul. They took us to a Japanese restaurant in Beaverton where they actually went on their first date. We were happy to go down memory lane and venture to a strip mall to try out some good Japanese. They warned us that the wait might be long, but we got our food pretty quickly. We started with miso soup and this noodle cucumber dish that was actually quite tasty. We then got some sushi to share that was good. For our main dishes, Bryce got a rice and pork bowl that tasted exactly like Funyuns to me. Not complaining, just haven't had Funyuns in years. I got a beef soup that came out lava hot, but after cooling off was delicious with yummy thick noodles. On our way home, we stopped at Cheesecake Factory and actually ended up getting chocolate cake instead of cheesecake. It was a great way to top of the meal!
After dinner we wanted to watch the BYU game, but it wasn't replaying until Saturday. Sadly, the score wasn't pretty so we went to bed and because Bryce wasn't feeling too good. It just isn't fun being sick.
In the morning, Bryce played basketball and then I met him at the church because we were on cleaning duty this week. It went pretty quickly and we were home again. Bryce rested while I went to the gym. It was a good work out and luckily some football games to keep me entertained. After getting ready for the day, we went out for lunch and got deli sandwiches and chocolate milk. We then went shopping for our Halloween costumes. It was harder than we expected to find stuff, but we got creative.
As we were driving home, the wind really started to blow. A tree and a huge branch fell down by our apartment. And leaves and small branches were everywhere. When we got home, we picked up the house, but while cleaning, the power went out because of the wind. It made it fun when our friends came over. We babysat their little one year old while they went to the temple.
Luckily, he didn't mind our dark and cold apartment. When they got back, we warmed up dinner using the grill. It worked pretty well and then we ate by candlelight.
I think with the limited lighting, my other senses were working hard because the burrito tasted especially amazing! By the time, we started dessert the power came back on, but I didn't need to see the pumpkin cake to know it was going to be good! After eating, we sat around talking and playing with Jesse.

Sunday Bryce stayed home and rested while I went to church. It was good, but I had to take notes during sacrament because I had all these thoughts and no one to share them with! The kids were kind of crazy in class, but I used bribery to get them to sit still and be quiet. When I got home, we took it pretty easy with lots of rest for Bryce. He needs to be healthy for the holiday week. Now to work on our Halloween costumes!
