The Lucky One

Last weekend was full of celebration and fun. Friday was kicked off with Pi(e) Day! I got pie at work, Bryce and I got sushi for dinner, and finished things off with cinnamon snickerdoodle ice cream from Salt & Straw. We walked around downtown after dinner and ice cream to enjoy the nice weather and there were so blossoming trees! We then watched a movie.
Saturday morning we headed to the Cannon Beach. We were hoping for some nice weather, but no such luck. It was raining when we arrived so we ate lunch in the car. The rain died down so we ventured out, but didn't last too long because of the wind. We met up with our friends and hung out at the restaurant right on the beach for awhile. It was fun! Then we tried walking on the beach again. It was ok walking with the wind and then when we got to haystack rock, we flew the kite. The walk back into the wind was not so fun.
So with the beach being less fun than we hoped, we went to Seaside. There is the main road with all the shops. We stopped at the candy store and then went to the arcade centor. We played bingo fascination, which felt like we were back in the 50s and what I imagine doing when I am 50. It was fun! Then we play basketball game. It was awesome and Bryce is automatic with his shot!
After the arcade, we went to get dinner. We found a cute pizza place, but they couldn't accommodate our party of 6 adults and 2 babies so we went to Pizza Hut. Fried crust anyone? We enjoyed every greasy bite and then headed home.

Sunday we combined Pi(e) Day and St. Patrick's Day. We wore green to church and the reverent leprechaun brought our class green rice krispies treats! For dinner, we had corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. My favorite meal! For dessert, I made a raspberry custard pie. It was super easy and not very sugary. Not my favorite pie!
Sunday was a pretty good start to St. Patrick's day, but Monday would not be outdone! We wore green and then went to the Whitings for green waffles, green whipping cream, green milk, and green Ebelskivers! We also had egg, strawberries, raspberries, nutella, and lemon curd, too! Are you green with jealousy?!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
