Oregon in July

This past weekend was another jam-packed whirlwind of fun! We started Friday evening by having dinner with our friends, Hanako and Kevin, at Shigezo. It is a yummy Japanese restaurant downtown and highly recommended by Hanako. I got the Kumamoto Ramon noodles, which was so excellent and apparently what Top Ramen is based off of, but so much better! Bryce got the salmon rice bowl that he also enjoyed. We then split a sushi roll and pork dumplings that were amazing too!
After dinner, we walked to a frozen yogurt shop and enjoyed some dessert. We also were entertained by some bros who were getting fro yo, too. Got to love Portland! After Bryce and I then went to the Rose Gardens to enjoy the beautiful evening.
Pretty people with pretty flowers!

Saturday we got up and headed south to Silver Falls for a fun hike that includes 9 waterfalls. We got there around 9:30 and headed on the trail. It wasn't too intense and the biggest water was right at the beginning. We hiked about 4 miles and ate our lunch under the last waterfall. It was so fun and luckily we got an early start because it got crowded.
After the hike, we came home and got showered. We then headed to the Nike employee store where we found nothing (sad day), but we then went to the library and got a book and movie. Then we found dinner - a barbecue place right in Lake Oswego called Pine Shed Ribs. We both got the beef brisket sandwich, but I got the bacon mac&cheese, and Bryce got the cornbread. Everything was amazing!
Wish I could eat this every day!

Sunday we took advantage of the day of rest by sleeping in. We then went to church where I taught the sunbeams and Bryce taught the 12 & 13 year olds. It was good, but the A/C was not strong enough in the classrooms. How do they expect me to run around with the kids if the building is so warm?! Then for Sunday dinner we had fun making a cauliflower Alfredo Cajun sauce. Bryce bbq'd the chicken and peppers and I made the sauce. We threw it all together over pasta and it was delicious! Love when my made up recipes work, but not sure if I will be able to ever recreate it.
