On Tuesday, Bryce and I along with some friends went and saw Team USA beat Team Belize! We got there early and first had dinner at Little Big Burger (my favorite burger place in Oregon). Then we went to the stadium and watched the last few minutes of the Costa Rica vs Cuba game. We had pretty good seats in the Timber Army section, but it was so hot! So Bryce and I got a pink lemonade to keep us hydrated as we watched the game.
So everyone was so excited for Team USA and we all wore our red, white, and blue! We cheered loudly as the team ran out on the field. Then the USA chanting started as they came out for the national anthems. My favorite part was seeing Landon Donovan. He was able to make such awesome plays!
The game was quite exciting with 6 goals for us and 1 for Belize! Of course, I missed not just one but TWO goals because of a bathroom break. The whole first half it seemed like the US was on the verge of scoring goals so I kept waiting because I didn't want to miss anything. So after they scored the second goal (2-0), I was like ok here is my chance to go real quick since there were 7 minutes before the half so it wouldn't be too crowded yet and they had just scored. EPIC Logic Fail! Belize scored a goal and then 30 seconds later the US did. Oh well, I got to see 4 other goals including a header and a sweet penalty kick by Landon!
