A Birthday Celebration

Usually I have so many plans for my birthday, but this year I didn't. Rhys and I have been sick so I just didn't have the energy to do anything. However, the day before my birthday, we felt well enough to leave the house, which we hadn't done for a week, and went to the gym. (We had signed up for the gym at the end of January and then promptly got sick.) So Rhys tried out the kid center while I got a little work out. I got a kick out of entering "31" one last time.
So I planned to do a 30 minute workout before checking on Rhys, but at minute 29 I hear over the loud speaker "Brittany Cook please come to the kid center." Oh boy! Apparently, Rhys didn't like the kid center as much as I had hoped and he wasn't into a locker room selfie either!

So on my actual birthday, things worked out. Rhys and I went shopping at Target and found a new sweater and then we went to Dairy Queen and got an ice cream cake. The funny part was both the sweater and cake were $22.99 and I thought how funny it's like the world doesn't want me to turn 23. Then I realized I was turning 32. Haha! Not sure if that is dyslexia or denial.

That afternoon Rhys took an amazingly long nap! (I did tell him that for my birthday I wanted him to take a good long nap for me since he didn't sleep that well the night before.) I was very grateful he listened because he needed the rest and I was able to shower and get ready!

In the evening after Rhys went to bed, we had some friends come over for a little party.
It was fun to see friends and catch up! With the snow and sickness this winter, it seems like we haven't seen many people lately.
The guys wanted a picture too.
A now for a birthday wish!

  1. I'm glad that you were able to have some kind of party. Has Rhys started to like the children's area or is it still a struggle?
