MLK weekend was a nice break even though Christmas vacation was only two weeks ago. We decided it would be the perfect weekend to go up to Austin and Rachael since it had been awhile! We left Saturday morning and got up there before noon. Vivian was napping when we arrived so we ate some lunch. Then when Vivian woke up, she wasn't too sure about us, but warmed up quickly. We headed to Tacoma to see the Chihuly Glass bridge and get donuts. Vivian loved being out and about and loved when I ran down the sidewalks of switchback to the bridge. Just look at that face, she has a need for speed!
The bridge was really awesome with lots of glass displays! And we had clear weather and made the glass extra pretty in the sunlight.
We then got hot chocolate and found some more works of glass around downtown. We saw this cool red glass chandelier in a building.
Afterwards, we finished our Tacoma visit with donuts from Legendary Donuts. They were tasty! When we got home, we watched Ghostbusters and then ate a delicious lasagna dinner. Kenzie got home later from the wedding stuff and we stayed up talking.
Then Sunday, we woke up early for church. Vivian hadn't slept very well so she had enough by third hour. We came home so she could nap and ate lunch. Then we went over to Grandma's to watch the Seahawks vs Niners game. It was so fun to see Allyson, Jen, Corinne, and the new puppy too! Vivian and the puppy were pretty hilarious together. The game was entertaining down to the end, but the wrong team won. I also got to try a pretzel roll....and holy amazing!
Monday, we slept in and had a slow morning. We then headed to Seattle, but then had a quick change of plans and went to Lake Washington. We played at a park and then got Ivar's, which has such good fish and chips. After we headed home and had a pretty easy drive. That evening our friends invited us over and we ate delicious key lime pie. So impressive!
Happy "I have a dream" Day!
I'm so honored to have my dessert featured on your blog! ;) Love your guts!
