Memorial Day

It was so nice coming back from Europe and having a holiday weekend to recover. We were able to rest and enjoy Memorial Day! We started with a crepe breakfast. I really just wanted an excuse to keep eating Nutella even though we weren't in Europe.

Then we went to the Crystal Spring Rhododendron Gardens. It was beautiful and slightly misty and so green. (After being in Europe, I forgot how beautifully green Oregon is and how wonderfully fresh the air is, too!) Of course, we did eat a Double Decker candy bar from London just to have a little of the European travel vibes going as we strolled through the paths.

After we went to the Willamette National Cemetery. They had an American Flag on every grave and it was just beautiful. So grateful and proud to be an American.
That evening we planned for a barbecue and so I made chocolate strawberry trifle and potato salad, but Bryce wasn't feeling well so went to bed around 6pm. I finished the food preparations around 8pm, but he was out cold. I didn't want to wake him so I put the food away and ate some cereal, but we did eventually eat our Memorial Day meal just a few days later!
God Bless the USA
