Summer must be in the air because we have been playing a lot and making new friends. Last Sunday after church, we went over to our friends' house to watch the USA vs Portugal game. It was such a hard game having the win taken in the last few second, but we did have a good USA cake to eat!
After the game, I had to run over to the temple for a training meeting because I will be working in the youth center. (I didn't know the temple had one, but it is for families who are being sealed and the kids need to wait somewhere until it is time so makes sense.) When I got home, Bryce and I went for a walk and then we visited our new neighbors and chatted for awhile.
Monday night we did our usually dinner of Costco pizza and getting groceries; Tuesday we went and saw Maleficent, which we enjoyed; Wednesday we played volleyball with the ward and Thursday we had friends over for desserts. On Thursday, Bryce also got Blue Star Donuts so after eating brownies and ice cream we tried some donuts. They were good, but we prefer Voodoo.
This week I also had two work parties so I was super busy trying to get all my projects done and still go to the parties. The first one was the year end carnival. They had a winter theme and so there were ice sculptures, PENGUIN prizes, and a snow hill with tubing. Plus, lots of food like Salt & Straw ice cream, popcorn, tacos, chicken fried bacon, and more!
With so much fun during the week, we toned it down for the weekend. Friday night, we went shopping. I was hoping to find a new purse, but no luck. We then had dinner at Wendy's, which either the quality has gone down or we have been spoiled with better food because it will probably be awhile before we go back.
Saturday we went on hike. This time to the Apes Caves and got to use our new headlamps! We invited Dan & Elizabeth to join us and they were able to make it even with the short notice.
The rain started to clear up after we left the caves sowe stopped at a beautiful lake and threw rocks. And of course the picture with cute Jesse turned out the best!
Then we went to Pine State Biscuits for Happy Hour. Not sure we hiked hard enough to justify The Chatfield, but it sure tasted amazing. When we got home we took a nap and then went to Bridgeport to walk around and enjoy the nice evening. By dinner time, we were only a little hungry and so we got breadsticks from Bellagio on our way home.
